Matthew 6:9 (NKJV)
"In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name."
“Prayer is the Altar of Wonders,” is not just a teaching. It is a revelation. It is an invitation. It is a call to understand how heaven operates. When you understand prayer through the finished work of the Cross, everything changes.
Approach God as Father, Friend, and Judge
Jesus Himself taught us how to pray in Gospel of Luke 11 and 18.
He said:
“When you pray, say: Our Father…”
First, we approach God as Father.
Not as a distant ruler. Not as a reluctant giver. But as Abba.
I always say:
“God is more than a human daddy. He is your source. He loves you beyond any comprehension any sermon could ever explain.”
When you approach Him as Father, you rest. You know He hears you. You don’t repeat prayers in fear. You don’t beg. You trust.
Then Jesus showed us to approach Him as a Friend — speaking openly, honestly, without masks.
“Don’t come with a fake face. Be real. Anyway, He knows everything about you.”
Jesus teaches us to approach God as Judge (Luke 18). Not because He is wicked like the unjust judge in the parable, but because heaven operates in a judicial system.
And when you understand that, your prayer life becomes powerful.
Understanding the Judicial System of Heaven
The Bible is not just a religious book. It is a legal document.
Old Testament. New Testament.
Testament means will — a written legal inheritance in your favor.
You are walking around with your legal document in your hand.
“Father wrote this will in my favor.”
Now listen carefully.
The Bible says in 1 John 2:1 that Jesus is our Advocate.
1 Timothy 2:5 says He is our Mediator.
In the courts of heaven:
-
God is Judge.
-
Jesus is Advocate.
-
The devil is the adversary.
-
And you are the witness.
The Greek word for adversary literally means opponent in a lawsuit.
The devil is not randomly attacking. He is accusing.
But here is the beauty :
“Your advocate Himself is your judge.”
Church, do you see how secure you are?
Your elder brother is your advocate and judge.
The Blood and the Word of Your Testimony
Book of Revelation 12:11 says:
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.”
Two things speak in the courtroom of heaven:
-
The Blood.
-
Your Testimony.
The blood of Jesus is constantly speaking mercy.
The advocate is constantly interceding.
But then you step into the witness box.
And here is the revelation I shared:
“The advocate and the witness cannot contradict.”
If Jesus says, “By My stripes they were healed,”
and you say, “I am sick,”
you are agreeing with the adversary.
But when you declare:
“By His stripes I was healed.”
Now the advocate and the witness agree.
The verdict is released.
The case is won.
This is prayer of petition.
Not emotional blabbering.
Not fear-driven repetition.
But speaking the language of the Testament.
Prayer is the Altar of Wonders
In the tabernacle, the altar represented justice.
You could not enter without crossing the brazen altar — judgment satisfied.
Then came the golden altar of incense.
In Book of Revelation 8, we see incense rising before the throne — the prayers of the saints mingled with heavenly fire.
The incense represents Christ.
The altar represents Christ.
The High Priest is Christ.
And the fire from heaven is thrown down upon the earth — upon the adversary.
That is why I say:
“When the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony come together, you overcome the enemy.”
Prayer is not begging God to act.
Prayer is aligning with what heaven has already declared.
The verdict has been written.
The ransom has been found.
Like Job cried out, and then declared:
“My God has found a ransom for me.” Not my intellect,
not my ability, not my strength. My God found it and that ransom is Jesus.
Ignorance vs. Inheritance
You are already on the winning side.
But ignorance can keep you from enjoying your benefits.
If you don’t know what is written in the Testament,
you won’t claim your legal rights.
When you pray in the Spirit (Romans 8:26),
the Holy Spirit aligns your words with the Advocate’s words.
When you take communion,
you declare: “Every right of Satan on me is forever denied.”
No legal ground. No foothold.
You have only two options in the courtroom:
-
Agree with the adversary.
-
Or agree with your Advocate.
Which voice are you echoing?
Today, I invite you to stand boldly in the witness box and declare:
-
“By His stripes I was healed.”
-
“He became poor that I might be rich.”
-
“I am accepted in the Beloved.”
-
“Christ is in me.”
Let your prayer become the altar of wonders.
Let your words align with heaven.
Let incense rise.
And watch the verdict fall in your favor.
Take a moment today.
Ask yourself:
-
Am I speaking in agreement with my Advocate?
-
Do I know what is written in my Testament?
-
Am I praying emotionally — or legally?
Open your Bible.Read your will. Speak your inheritance.
Prayer— when aligned with the finished work is truly the altar of wonders.
